Epiphanies, Cycling and Cauliflower Parties

I had an epiphany while I worked out this morning. You know when you’re mid-lunge and that genius idea comes to you and you finish your set not even feeling anything any more because you’re too lost in la la land to notice the sweat dripping from your forehead? Me neither. Except for today. Because today I decided to try to work at Big Sky. 24 hour exposure to fitness and people with goals like mine. What could be better than that? And free gym membership might be a benefit. Just maybe. How have I not thought of this before?

So I celebrated. And my celebrated I mean I ate cauliflower while I watched/fast-forwarded  Water for Elephants and typed my resume.

Tomorrow Ill go and ask/beg for a job at the front desk. But not before training for my race! 2 weeks to go, people!

Awesome workout this morning. I did 4 of the circuits from p90x plyometrics, then added a 15 minute one that I copied from bodyrock.tv, and then a 5 minute one from them. I dont like to just use those by themselves because A. theyre too easy for me and B. They’re too short. They dont help you build endurance. So after that I added a little butt workout that I made up myself so it all ended up being about 1hr 20min. Tomorrow morning will have to be quick because I have to leave for my starbucks interview at 8:30 and I dont want to feel rushed or stressed. Ill probably workout 6-7:15. Maybe a little less because I want time to eat good and digest. I dont need to throw up on the starbucks manager :p

Today was Plyo which left me drunk on endorphins and totally happy the rest of the day and thats how I feel now as I set up for Back&Biceps + Ab Ripper X tomorrow. It was a little hard to get up after my weekend break but I don’t regret it one bit and now I know for the rest of the week why I drag my body out of bed at 6 AM every morning even when its the summer. Its so worth it!!!! And I love that P90x challenges me and reminds me with growing muscles that its worth my time. I received the best compliment ever from a girl who works at JCrew. My mom and I have known her for a while and we stop by to say hi every once in a while and she told me that she thinks I have a great figure. She says Im thin so I can wear anything but Im not the average teenager-girl “I don’t wanna be fat,” kind of skinny. I have muscle definition and you can tell Im fit but not in a manly way. I am really so happy to have heard that cause that means Ive reached that point where other people begin to notice your progress which shows how far Ive come. Im so glad I started back when I did or Id have a lot longer to work before I got to hear todays compliment. Thats the kind of motivation that staring at pictures of cut models on Pinterest will never bring you. Ditching the daydreaming and working your ass off to become what you want is the real thing!!!

Week 6 P90x killed? Affirmative.

So even though my schedule got messed up a bit I worked it out so Ill finish in 8 more weeks which I know is one more than on the P90x plan but Im not in a rush and I know it’ll be worth it. Today was Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps but I slept in (til 7AM, is that really sleeping in? I think Im half robot) so I didn’t have time to do the Ab Ripper :( I won’t preach another P90x commercial but let me just say that I can do sooo many more pushups than I could 3 months ago. Im amazed at my progress. The program works wonders.

Today Ive got a lot going on so Ive had to amend my eating schedule a bit to fit but other than that Im really happy with my meals and all. I really feel great!!! One of my goals for this summer is finding more healthy allergen free recipes that I can make quickly for myself especially as next year Ill be juggling college and work and the craziness of life. Message me f you have any good ideas/blogs/recipes/magic tricks(if only…)/etc…

I know this may be redundant cause I posted it before but I didn’t get any answers so I thought Id try one last time… Are there any good apps in the Mac App store that are fitness related?? Thanks!

That up there has been my answer to a few things lately and I don’t regret any of it….
So its been an eternity. I haven’t been tracking workouts and blabbing about it and showing you how lovely my steamed veggies look. That being said, I have totally been working out. Its been a tight squeeze as i had relatives staying in the room in which I usually do p90x and now that my road bike has been moved into my room, theres really no space to do anything. Im so proud of how i worked around that though!! I managed to workout some nights when they weren’t around and in the mornings I lifted weights in my room. I rode my bike and I went for a few jogs. Eating stayed rather steady except for my peanut butter splurges…. daily…… buuuuut it goes to show that in moderation thats ok (i wasn’t eating the whole jar, just wish spoonfuls…) because my muscles look way better than they did even a few weeks ago and when I weigh in tomorrow I’m sure Ill be happy with what I see cause i feel great.
I found that some of my lower abdominal discomfort was due to tight hip flexors and stretching twice a day has made that problem disappear so that was a bonus :)
So now down to my question: I bought a macbook pro this week which I’m soooo excited about and Im wondering if there are any great mac apps for tracking workouts or something fab like that? Im also a college-ish student so… you know…. free apps are preferred….

This is so true!!!! I know happiness is a choice but endorphins make it an obvious, convenient choice. There’s nothing like letting it all out on the yoga mat or the pavement and facing your day with the determination to take whatever comes at you. I guess I should look at this before I do plyometrics tomorrow, eh?

This changed my outlook on a lot of the work I did this week. I’m kind of sad for when the weekend comes and I have to take my rest days, cause I’m totally on a role and loving it!! (did I just say that? I’m sorry weekend…we can still be friends.) I’m done with most of my classes so I’ve upped workout time to about 2hrs…I almost wish I was kidding because it sounds crazy. Well it won’t last very long I’m sure but I just can’t choose between biking and p90x! I’m weighing in tomorrow… My hope is that I’m at or above 105 and that all the cardio I’ve added isn’t making me lose weight I cant afford to lose. Wish me luck!
