I havent posted much lately because of college and trying to get a job, but mind you Ive worked out every day in preparation for my first road bike “ride” (not really a race, its for charity) thats coming in less than a month. Gulp. 35 miles of New England countryside. I can’t wait!!!!

Also Ive lost some weight (dont know why, but its not good) so Ive been baking again to try to put on a few pounds. Today I made Gluten free pumpkin muffins. Almond flour, Brown rice flour, 2 egg whites, 1 cup of pumpkin, a little baking soda, some cinnamon, and 3 tablespoons of agave. They’re actually really good! Im trying to get a job at Trader Joes now so I can get a discount on Quinoa and almonds and protein bars and stuff so well see how that goes.

So you know those progress pics Ive been talking about taking? I lack motivation. Does anyone actually care?

Im looking into exercise science majors/nutrition minors. Any good school recommendations? Vermont University has my eye right now…

So yeah thats the gist of whats been going on in Moriah world lately.

fitblr Fad Day 27: Unhealthy food that tempt you and how you stay away

They dont. I mean maybe Ill be hungry when Im at someones house and they’re eating chips and I want one just to stop the growling noises of my stomach but I never want junk food for the sake for junk food. Im so blessed to be that way because Im sure it makes my life that much easier. But when you’re as sick as I was, you know its not worth it and it just doesnt look good. I just picture myself throwing up again and laying on the floor because of the cramps and I dont want anything to do with it.

I. feel. so. sick. right. now. What did I do wrong??!!!! Ughhhh. There must have been some sort of cross-contamination yesterday. Don’t you just love being a celiac living with a bunch of bagel fanatics? Well tomorrow is kenpo/bike day and I will be there at 6 AM kicking away even if its with a plastic bag in one hand in case I throw up. On second thought, maybe Ill be there at 7.

Fitblr Fad Day 19: Fav fruits and veggies

Yeah thats right. I skipped day 18. Because I cant answer it. Not yet. Im rather overwhelmed with training. I love doing it and I do it a lot and every single day but its hard sometimes because I feel like there are some things Ill never be able to teach myself without a coach. So Im not in the position to give the advice that day 18 was asking me to give. I need to learn what to tell myself, first.

So fav fruits and veggies.

Fruit: Mangos. They’re big and filling and yummy and they stay good for a long time and if I stick them in the freezer for a few minutes on a hot day, they’re perfect and refreshing. They’re also great in salsa form. Now, Grapefruit. They’re a super fruit and they’re delish. End of story. Blueberries. Teeny, cute, good for your skin, and sweet.

Veggies: Spaghetti Squash, its tasty and filling and is a perfect vehicle for anything. You can make it mexican and spicy with beans and corn and peppers with some lime or stick your meatballs and tomato sauce on it. I love it. Tomatoes. I cant get enough of these. Especially in the summer when I can eat them straight out of the garden… And finally, Boston Lettuce/aka Buttercrunch. My fav lettuce. I eat salads almost every day and it can get tiring, but not when its with buttercrunch…

Fitblr Fad, Day 3: Favorite Healthy Foods

Ok my fav? Well, I love drinking black coffee while eating a peanut butter think thin protein bar. Its my fav post-workout meal. And I swear its good for you too, my body would let me know if it wasn’t. Trust me. But I also love mangos, grilled asparagus, corn on the cob, and anything with meat. Oh and grilled salmon with tomatoes on top. Yuuuummmmm.

On a separate note Im feeling very motivated and happy!! I did p90x this morning and then biked for 45 minutes while I watched the men’s olympic cycling. I cant wait to do it again tomorrow with the women’s cycling!!! It really makes me feel like Im a part of something bigger than a saturday morning workout when I ride while watching cycling or any sport for that matter. You should try it :)

Todays Menu

hahaaaa I forgot to add this into my other post…. my food. Not that it matters but if you’ve done it before, you know it helps to see it all laid out.

  • protein bar, coffee
  • mango, almonds
  • 4 egg white omelet w random leftover piece of corn and some pretzels that I had
  • mango, almonds, coffee. Ok I also ate peanut butter. I confess.
  • and dinner will be a chicken salad. And maybe some mango.

guess what my new favorite fruit is… heehee. Yeah Im going crazy.

Well since Ive hit 108 Id like to gain some more weight before school starts. I wanted to be  115lbs of muscle by september but I realize now that I don’t put on weight that fast so Ill take 110-112. Im so happy I hit 108!!!!! And its all muscle and I was eating peanut butter the whole time!!! Booyahhhh!!!!

One last confession. Ive had a renewed intrest in bacon. where did these cravings come from????? OK well I have a friend who’s really fun to eat meat with so we can just blame him. But don’t worry Im keeping this under control :)

Planning Ahead…

As always p90x was wonderful today :) Ive since eaten my protein bar, a 5 egg white omelet, and about a 1/2 serving of carbs worth of crackers. Soon Ill have my salmon, black beans and veggies, and then later a larabar, and then rice with turkey meatballs with a salad and a grapefruit after that for dessert. This plan is wonderful for summer break and its nice to eat my food nice and fresh, right after I make it, but come fall Ill be juggling college, work, babysitting, art class, music lessons, my responsibilities at home, and drivers ed. Never mind still trying to do p90x every morning. Oh and my social life :p. I won’t have time to make my food like this and Ill need to cook in advance and store it throughout the week. I can’t buy food on the go because I can’t have gluten or dairy so I have to bring portable meals/snacks everywhere. I eat a ton for a 105 lb girl and i pretty much need a full meal (200-400 calories) every 3 hours. Any ideas to help me with this? I want to avoid all processed foods so its making this situation tricky….

Week 6 P90x killed? Affirmative.

So even though my schedule got messed up a bit I worked it out so Ill finish in 8 more weeks which I know is one more than on the P90x plan but Im not in a rush and I know it’ll be worth it. Today was Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps but I slept in (til 7AM, is that really sleeping in? I think Im half robot) so I didn’t have time to do the Ab Ripper :( I won’t preach another P90x commercial but let me just say that I can do sooo many more pushups than I could 3 months ago. Im amazed at my progress. The program works wonders.

Today Ive got a lot going on so Ive had to amend my eating schedule a bit to fit but other than that Im really happy with my meals and all. I really feel great!!! One of my goals for this summer is finding more healthy allergen free recipes that I can make quickly for myself especially as next year Ill be juggling college and work and the craziness of life. Message me f you have any good ideas/blogs/recipes/magic tricks(if only…)/etc…

I know this may be redundant cause I posted it before but I didn’t get any answers so I thought Id try one last time… Are there any good apps in the Mac App store that are fitness related?? Thanks!

That up there has been my answer to a few things lately and I don’t regret any of it….
So its been an eternity. I haven’t been tracking workouts and blabbing about it and showing you how lovely my steamed veggies look. That being said, I have totally been working out. Its been a tight squeeze as i had relatives staying in the room in which I usually do p90x and now that my road bike has been moved into my room, theres really no space to do anything. Im so proud of how i worked around that though!! I managed to workout some nights when they weren’t around and in the mornings I lifted weights in my room. I rode my bike and I went for a few jogs. Eating stayed rather steady except for my peanut butter splurges…. daily…… buuuuut it goes to show that in moderation thats ok (i wasn’t eating the whole jar, just wish spoonfuls…) because my muscles look way better than they did even a few weeks ago and when I weigh in tomorrow I’m sure Ill be happy with what I see cause i feel great.
I found that some of my lower abdominal discomfort was due to tight hip flexors and stretching twice a day has made that problem disappear so that was a bonus :)
So now down to my question: I bought a macbook pro this week which I’m soooo excited about and Im wondering if there are any great mac apps for tracking workouts or something fab like that? Im also a college-ish student so… you know…. free apps are preferred….

Ahhh ok THAT is my goal. And really I think just a few months of intense training, carful eating, and lots of laying in the sun can get me there. Today was plyo and I did my best work in that area yet, even though let’s just say this isn’t my week really for being on my game. Oh ooohhhh I almost forgot: insanity. Oh insanity I would like to take this moment to recite a Shakespearean ballad that I wrote in thy honor: Methinks thou art brutal but I hardly sense it at all. I skid across the floor and thrust punches at ze wall. Lower core was slightly sensitive in the morn, but Oh, happy day! The endorphins were more! The abundance of joy and gratitude my heart feeleth for thou art higher than Olympus…… Crap. I think I started to go French/Greek somewhere in there. I’m gonna go teenager and just say it kicked ass. I want it so bad…. I think I’ll buy it once I get past phase 2 of p90x and add it in for an ultimately beast workout. Insanity X. I like the sound of that :)
