I havent posted much lately because of college and trying to get a job, but mind you Ive worked out every day in preparation for my first road bike “ride” (not really a race, its for charity) thats coming in less than a month. Gulp. 35 miles of New England countryside. I can’t wait!!!!

Also Ive lost some weight (dont know why, but its not good) so Ive been baking again to try to put on a few pounds. Today I made Gluten free pumpkin muffins. Almond flour, Brown rice flour, 2 egg whites, 1 cup of pumpkin, a little baking soda, some cinnamon, and 3 tablespoons of agave. They’re actually really good! Im trying to get a job at Trader Joes now so I can get a discount on Quinoa and almonds and protein bars and stuff so well see how that goes.

So you know those progress pics Ive been talking about taking? I lack motivation. Does anyone actually care?

Im looking into exercise science majors/nutrition minors. Any good school recommendations? Vermont University has my eye right now…

So yeah thats the gist of whats been going on in Moriah world lately.

Awesome workout this morning. I did 4 of the circuits from p90x plyometrics, then added a 15 minute one that I copied from bodyrock.tv, and then a 5 minute one from them. I dont like to just use those by themselves because A. theyre too easy for me and B. They’re too short. They dont help you build endurance. So after that I added a little butt workout that I made up myself so it all ended up being about 1hr 20min. Tomorrow morning will have to be quick because I have to leave for my starbucks interview at 8:30 and I dont want to feel rushed or stressed. Ill probably workout 6-7:15. Maybe a little less because I want time to eat good and digest. I dont need to throw up on the starbucks manager :p

Fitblr Fad Day 30 - Ending stats/overall feelings, comments

Well my weight hasn’t changed so Im not going to bother change my stats but as for feelings and comments, Im just happy to have been able to give the answers that I gave during this “fad.’  I know that just a little over a year ago my answers would have been depressing and dramatically different. Im also really happy to be done with this thing haha I was feeling so generic. Oh and more good news: my abs are sore in that awesome way :)

Fitblr Fad Day 28 - The first thing that comes to mind when you hear/see the words ‘fitness’/’health’/’fitspo’ and why:

Narcissistic… haha thats what fitspo reminds me of. And I know that make me kind of a hypocrite because I participate but its what it reminds me of ;P

Fitness makes me think of the workouts that I love and feel privileged to do. It makes me think of racing and how I cant wait to do my first bike race in 4 years this october.

Healthy means more to me than you’d think. Healthy makes me think of now. It makes me think of how far Ive come. It reminds me of buying weights, getting groupons for yoga classes to slowly get me back on my feet, eating 100 grams of protein, and clipping coupons for protein bars because I feel bad about how much they cost my mom. Healthy is a word that reminds me that it was all worth it. Healthy was the reason I did what I did and am doing what I do. Healthy is a word that Im proud to say is no longer a dream.

fitblr Fad Day 27: Unhealthy food that tempt you and how you stay away

They dont. I mean maybe Ill be hungry when Im at someones house and they’re eating chips and I want one just to stop the growling noises of my stomach but I never want junk food for the sake for junk food. Im so blessed to be that way because Im sure it makes my life that much easier. But when you’re as sick as I was, you know its not worth it and it just doesnt look good. I just picture myself throwing up again and laying on the floor because of the cramps and I dont want anything to do with it.

Fitblr Fad Day 21: 5 workouts youve never done but want to try

Im skipping Day 20. These questions are getting redundant.

Oh where do I begin…. well I really want to do P90x2 since I loved p90x so much and I think Ill probably buy it next winter. I also have always wanted to do pole vaulting. It looks insanely hard but Id love to see what I can do. I also really want to workout with Hope Solo. She’s really cool and Id love to see what she does :) One day I want to go to a gym and use all of the equipment. Ive only ever trained with my own bodyweight, my bike, and a set of 10lb weights, so Id love to experience working out there. Lastly I want to do cycling training with a coach. Im sure Im not doing everything right so Id like to see what they’d have me do.

Fitblr Fad Day 19: Fav fruits and veggies

Yeah thats right. I skipped day 18. Because I cant answer it. Not yet. Im rather overwhelmed with training. I love doing it and I do it a lot and every single day but its hard sometimes because I feel like there are some things Ill never be able to teach myself without a coach. So Im not in the position to give the advice that day 18 was asking me to give. I need to learn what to tell myself, first.

So fav fruits and veggies.

Fruit: Mangos. They’re big and filling and yummy and they stay good for a long time and if I stick them in the freezer for a few minutes on a hot day, they’re perfect and refreshing. They’re also great in salsa form. Now, Grapefruit. They’re a super fruit and they’re delish. End of story. Blueberries. Teeny, cute, good for your skin, and sweet.

Veggies: Spaghetti Squash, its tasty and filling and is a perfect vehicle for anything. You can make it mexican and spicy with beans and corn and peppers with some lime or stick your meatballs and tomato sauce on it. I love it. Tomatoes. I cant get enough of these. Especially in the summer when I can eat them straight out of the garden… And finally, Boston Lettuce/aka Buttercrunch. My fav lettuce. I eat salads almost every day and it can get tiring, but not when its with buttercrunch…

fitblr Fad Day 17: 3 Things you cant stand to see yourself do

Well its a long list but I guess these are supposed to be related to fitness? So heres a few…

1. Miss a day of training. I havent done it since the start of P90x because I just cant bring myself to miss it.

2. Eat crap. Haven’t done that in forever but my un-supportive relatives try to make me. Its hard to do it when it means telling them “no, Im not eating that,” but it matters to me so Ill eat my corn on the cob while you have your milkshake, thank you very much.

3. Not enjoy a workout. Occasionally theres the day where all I can think about is going to bed that night and I hate every single pushup or dead lift or squat jack and it irks me because I want this to be something that I love. Usually it is, but I hate when it isn’t.

Fitblr Fad Days 13,14,&15

So I was in Rhode Island for a few days and I missed my blogging. Did you miss me? Didnt think so. But dont worry, I didnt forget working out :) Ive run a similar route here every year since I was about 12 and I revisited it everyday. So now to the Fad stuff…

Day 13: Favorite Healthy Recipies. Er, um… can you say “I CANT COOK?!” I.. um… like leftover chicken in salads…ok well I can cook salmon. I do one with orange juice, balsamic vinegar, and chipotle pepper that I just put on it when its almost done cooking and then I can also grill it with thinly sliced tomatoes on it. Yummm. And my sweet potato black bean chili kicks ass.

Day 14: Top 5 things you’re looking forward to once you reach your goals. I think this is a weird question. Do we ever actually reach our goals? Do we ever stop and just reap benefits? In my mind Ill never be done, Ill always be striving for perfection. Along the way I experience triumphs and failures that make milestones and those are the things that stand out and that Im sure will stand out in the future. The journey is what I signed up for. I look forward to the steps that I take in this experience and I know that good or bad, they’re here for my own good.

Day 15: Workouts that youve done each day since you started this “fad” thingymabober: Well it goes something like this… Legs&Back plus Ab RipperX, then the next day Chest, Shoulders,&Triceps plus Ab Ripper, then Core Synergistics, then Yoga X, then biking, then Back&Biceps plus the Ab Ripper, then Plyometrics and a Butt workout, then Legs&Back and Abs again, then Kenpo X, then Core Synergistics, then a big day of biking, then Kenpo X with another butt workout, then running, then a rest-ish day, then a day of just abs. So basically about 2 weeks of P90x with a little biking, running, and random butt workout stuff thrown in. And there you have it.
